Modern Farm House

When starting this project I had this desire & vision to make a warm modern house. This lot we are building on is surrounded by 4 custom new build homes. For this house to “stick out from the rest” and not “ be like the one next door” my urge was to bring contrast to the street. By bringing black siding, warm wood tones and a statement front door & garage door there is no way you wouldn’t say “ HONEY!! STOP THE CAR!!!” This project is going to be full of gorgeous statement tile, warm wood tones, textures and sleek fixtures. Since this house isn’t being designed for a specific buyer or occupant we are designing for the potential buyer in this area, price range and since this is custom we don’t want to look like the one next door.

Building a home is a lot more then most may think.. Designers are picking literally every surface. You have to find everything from cabinets, countertops, floor, backsplash tile, Interior & exterior light fixtures, recessed lighting, toilets, faucets, shower heads, sinks, paint, windows, interior & exterior doors, landscaping material, roofing, appliances, trim, baseboard, wall texture, exterior elevation materials, garage door, driveway & entry walk way material and the list goes on & on & on. Projects can take months to plan and day on end of searching for product. Gathering everything in time for installation on right day and then making sure everything is done right.

These were my inspirations when the project started. The perfect mix of modern farm house but more emphasis on the modern. You can see I went bold on the exterior. The reason why, everyone one in this price range, & in the area look too much a like and haven’t sold yet. Modern sells in this area but the mix of farm house can bridge the gap of potential buyers. If you only do farm house it can limit the buyer pool with the other homes close that are similar.
