Frames We Love!

Art is such a wonderful way to make a space feel warm and inviting! Today we are sharing all of our favorite frames both Vintage and New on in all price ranges.

Lakeside

Some of my Favorite frames were frames that I have acquired at one of my favorite Vintage stores @oldbrickhouse here is Down town Mesa, AZ. Both of these frames were on sale. The one with the Pirate ship painting was just 5 bucks!!! Can you say a steal or what!

Vintage is my preferred route of frame. I like the real wood & the intricacy of the frames detail. Although it is hard to search high and low for the right size frame I am here to tell you that new can look vintage too… On many occasions I have made the new cheap frame feel and look vintage.

I love to mix the new with the old. This is an art of balance. I love all things vintage but I also love modern and simplicity. When I look for frames I find the size and worry about its appearance later.

New Never Felt So Good

Some of my Favorite frames I own are cheap, Found at TJ-Maxx, AtHome & Walmart. The misconception is that you have to have expensive thing to make it look luxury or beautiful. News flash is that money doesn’t always make things more beautiful or functional! I tend to side on a more sustainable budget and do splurge on things that really matter to me. Frames aren’t usually “Cheap” this is not a description I would use. Most frames seem expensive for what it really is. The Hack is finding similar frames you love but on a budget…

Ikea

Some may disagree but Ikea is highly under rated in many areas & frames are one of those things. They have an amble amount of sizes, colors, and materials. I really like them because the glass isn’t glass. With children, and animals i feel that everything that is on a wall or table is going to fall and shatter, the plexus glass is helpful. The white frame above is 8x10 for just 4.99! They carry white, black, wood grain, gold, silver and also more intricate frames that are not as modern. Size vary from small 4x6 - 24x35.5! These frames are great for more than the price and sizes. These are great options to paint! I have painted many of the larger frames with a more muted/vintage gold paint and gold leaf. They also carry large frames that are amazing for cavas art 55x22, 47x31, 55x40 up to 79x55. All under 50.00!

Clarence Clarence Clarence!

I love shopping Clarence for numerous reasons and one being the ‘Deal’ but really it is because you can get nice things that have small flaws that lower its value to the masses but not to me! Most of the frames I find on Clarence I paint or change some how. Some time scratch to broken glass, deal breakers but fixable. I prefer some of my fart with out glass! The shine and glare that glass can give is not great for photos. So I tend to remove glass completely on some of my art. If for some reason I needed glass the glass replacements are not expensive.

Vintage

Vintage frames are magical. From the extravagant details, the wood, and gold makes me so giddy! I love all things vintage and as you can see this portrait and frame are GORGEOUS. Found at @OldBrickHouse Clarence the original early 1900’s portrait and frame. Finding them can be difficult, here are some options that look vintage but are new!
